The material discusses the assessment of the static stability of road construction machinery on inclined working surfaces under conditions different from the usual horizontal setup. For this purpose, the concepts of longitudinal and transverse stability are introduced, based on the normal reactions at the machine’s wheels. The conditions for the static stability of the machine, taking into account both longitudinal and transverse slopes of the working surface, have been analyzed. Analytical relationships have been derived for determining the normal reactions at all four wheels of the machine, as well as expressions for calculating the limiting angles of longitudinal and lateral stability. The influence of the machine’s center of mass position and the inclination angles of the working surface on load redistribution and tipping conditions is demonstrated. The results obtained can be applied in the design and operation of road construction machinery to ensure safe operation on inclined working surfaces.
Keywords: machine stability, tipping conditions, normal reactions, longitudinal stability angle, lateral stability angle, center of mass, support base, limiting stability conditions.
